What Is The Religion Of Islam?

The name of the religion Islam, or more properly described as the way of life that God has revealed and which was applied by all the Prophets and Messengers sent to humanity.

The actual name of the religion Islam leaps out among the other faiths as it means a state of being; it does not refer to any particular person such as Christianity, Buddhism or Zoroastrianism; a tribe like Judaism; or a nation like Hinduism.

The Arabic language root from which comes the word Islam means peace, safety, salutation, protection, guilelessness, wellness, submission, deliverance, acceptation, yielding and redemption. Islam specifically stands for a state of free submission and yielding to God, to revere Him alone, and to accept and obey His Laws.

Through this submission and surrender, peace, security and well-being involved in its actual meaning is accomplished. Hence the Muslim, whether male or female, is a person in this state of submission and surrender.

Islam softens an individual through sin, ignorance and bad actions, and annulled in totality by associating partners with God, or disbelief in Him.
